Sample Deed Files
Sample Deed Files
DeedMapper comes with two sample deed files that you can use for experimentation and for comparison to your own work. One sample is a metes and bounds project in Kentucky. The other sample is a public domain project in Arkansas. Both sample projects include our optional background maps.
To access the samples, open the Help menu and select Sample Projects. You’ll be given another menu by which to select the sample project of interest to you.
Once you’ve opened one of the sample projects, we recommend you do the following kinds of experiments:
• Select the Plot View tab and experiment with navigation around the Plot View. Select a parcel by clicking on it, then drag it by holding down the left mouse button.
• Select the Text View tab and step through the various deeds examining their deed text. Find an interesting deed and then jump to it in the Plot View by clicking the Jump button in the toolbar.
• Select the Table View tab and scroll through the parcel summaries. Sort the view on the owner name by clicking on the column labeled To. Change the widths of the columns. Select a deed and jump to it in the Plot View by clicking the Jump button in the toolbar.
