Determining the latitude and longitude of a point

If you have DeedMapper maps in your project, or if you have background images and have provided the necessary information, you can find the latitude and longitude of any point on a map/image.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Plot View (F5 shortcut key)
  2. Open the Tools menu and select the Lat./Long. command, or press the grid button grid on the toolbar.

As you move the mouse over the map you’ll see the latitude and longitude displayed in the Status Bar at the bottom of the main window. The format is degrees/minutes/seconds.

When you use the grid cursor you cannot select parcels. Return to parcel selection mode by opening the Tools menu and selecting the Pointer command, or press the pointer button pointer on the toolbar.

If you move the grid cursor outside of the background maps/images no latitude/longitude value will be reported.
