Searching
Find Text command (Edit menu)
Use this command to search all deeds in the deed file for a particular word or phrase. The command brings up the Find Dialog Box which allows you to enter the text to be searched for. The box will stay on top of DeedMapper until you dismiss it by pressing the Cancel button. This allows you to press Find Next as many times as you like.
A successful search is one in which at least one deed contains the desired word or phrase. The indication of a successful search depends on which view is active.
• If the Plot View is active and the search succeeds you’ll see summary information about the deed in the titlebar of the main window. The deed will "light up" to indicate that it has been selected and the view will reposition itself to put the matching deed in the center.
• If the Text View is active and the search succeeds, the deed’s text will be shown in the view.
• If the Table View is active and the search succeeds, the deed will be highlighted.
You can continue the search, looking for additional deeds that contain the text, by selecting Find Next.
The Find dialog gives you the option of “selecting matching deeds”. If chosen, all matching deeds will be selected. You can then use the Deed Filter to hide all non-matching deeds.
